Fundraisers ahead for Pegasus Special Riders

OREGON – Pegasus Special Riders’ annual picnic begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at its facility at 6668 S. Carthage Road.

A pork chop sandwich dinner will be served, Jim Kansas will play American roots music, and there will be a Chinese auction, musical chairs, rider demonstrations, horsey bingo, and face painting.

Admission is $15 or $50 for a family of four; and free for those 5 and younger.

Wining and dining

On Aug. 4, Crystal Cork Wine Cellar, 219 W. First St. in Dixon, will offer wine and food pairings, and have games and prizes, starting at 6 p.m. to raise funds for Pegasus.

Tickets cost $50, which includes a flight of wine, a meal, and a session in which wines will be paired with certain foods to enhance the dining experience.

Seating is limited, and reservations are due by July 21.

Pegasus Special Riders Inc. is a nonprofit that provides therapy through horseback riding for people with physical and mental challenges.

Call 815-973-3177 for more information on either event, or to reserve a spot for the dinner.
