STERLING – Michael T. Wade, 56, of Sterling, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at his home. He was employed by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department as a telecommunicator for 20 years, retiring in 2012.

He was born Sept. 30, 1960, in Sterling, the son of William Hart and Judith Ann Fry. He married LeAnne Waters on Oct. 4, 1983. He served in the Air Force from Oct. 30, 1979, to Jan. 8, 1982.

Survivors include his wife; his father of Monmouth; his mother of Rock Falls; daughter, Erin (Ritchie Quigg) Kindle of Sterling; sons, Joey Sharp of Waco, Texas, and Seth Wade and Cole Wade, both of Sterling; his sisters, Jo-lea Hart Coffman of Morrison, and Jeanette Jones and Paula Baldwin, both of Rock Falls; his brothers, Bill Hart Jr. and Rob Jones Jr. of Rock Falls and Shawn Fry of Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather; one brother; grandparents; his father- and mother-in-law; nephew; and sister-in-law.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Military honors will be accorded after the funeral.

Memorials may be directed to Happy Tails and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
