Leave your mark at Paint the Town in Morrison

MORRISON – Paint the Town will return for its 23rd year from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 16 on Main Street downtown.

During festivities, participants will be supplied with what they need to paint a 5-foot-by-5-foot square on the street.

Registration and bag pickup will be at the drive next to American Legion Post 328, 306 E. Main St.

Each square is $13 in person or by mail through Sept. 14, and $14.71 online. Orders will not be accepted Sept. 15. On the day of the event, squares will be $18 starting at noon.

Register at paintthetownmorrison.com/register-now, in person at City of Morrison, 200 W. Main St., or by downloading a form on the website and mailing it to CAPA P.O. Box 45 Morrison, IL 61270.

Entertainment spans from noon into the evening, including entertainment from street performers.

There will be food vendors.

The Harvest Hammer 5K Run/Duathlon, which features many races, begins at 8:15 a.m. at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee St. Go to www.harvesthammer.org for a complete schedule and learn how to register.

The streets will be blocked the next day to vehicle traffic to allow people to view the finished art.
