Joe Gasser

JACKSON, Tenn. – Joe Gasser died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2017, in Jackson, Tennessee, after suffering dementia. Joe met his wife, Inez, in the early 1970s, while working at Sperry Professional Corporation in Phoenix. The couple retired to Jackson to be near Inez’s family.

Joseph Anthony Gasser was born March 7, 1939, to Rudolph and Mathilde Gasser, who came to Dixon from Switzerland as part of the Swissville community which grew up around George H. Page’s Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company.

Joe is survived by his brothers, Rudy of Sun City West, Arizona, and Edward of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez.

Joe served 6 years in the Navy on the carrier Franklin D Roosevelt. He graduated with the class of 1958 from Dixon High School.

Recollections:

· Thinking of Joe reminds me of his humor and rather soulful tenderness.

· He was an avid tennis player and, in front of the high school, tried to teach me to play.
