STERLING – Sauk Valley Bank has named a new chairman for its board of directors.
Robert Hill, one of the bank’s founding board members, was recently elected to replace longtime Chairman Ronald Gerken, who is retiring from the post but will remain on the board.
“Robert has been instrumental in the growth and success of this organization, and we look forward to his continued guidance,” bank President and CEO Dirk Meminger said. “We also want to thank Ronald Gerken not only for his leadership for the past 19 years, but also for his passion and expertise that was so instrumental in the formation and success of Sauk Valley Bank.”
Hill, who has been board vice president since 2006, is a Newman Central Catholic High School and Carthage College graduate and is the former owner of Hill Fastener Corp. He’s president of Hill Holdings Inc. and serves as the industrial division manager of the Industrial Fasteners Institute.
He and his wife, Nancy, live in Rock Falls and have three children and eight grandchildren.
Sauk Valley Bank has locations in Sterling, Rock Falls and Dixon and will soon be opening a branch in Harvard.
