I am sure there are brilliant, honest, hardworking people who, if elected, would be great in office. Yet, you seldom hear of them.
The media points out how much each candidate spends on their campaign. Money can generate influence, be it legislation written to benefit donors, or personal gains.
It is all about who you know.
If an elected politician is subservient to those who pull his or her strings, then the premise of equality and fairness for all becomes irrelevant.
I would choose to vote for a candidate who has shallow pockets, but holds a desire to help all regardless of their financial class.
