DIXON – A Rock Falls felon with a history of drug-related convictions was in Lee County Jail Tuesday on $50,000 bond, charged with dealing 1 to 15 grams of heroin.
Ryan Dean Hicks, 30, was arrested at 1:11 Tuesday morning. He faces 4 to 15 years in prison if convicted. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 10 in Lee County Court.
He also has two pending felony cases in Whiteside County in which he’s charged with four counts of deceptive practices all told.
He was arrested in March, and in May posted $2,500 of his $25,000 bond and was released. He has an Oct. 24 pretrial hearing both cases.
In 2012, Hicks was sentenced in Whiteside County to a year and a half probation for possession of a controlled substance, and in 2015, he got 4 1/2 years for two counts of retail theft after violating the terms of the drug court program.
He was sentenced in 2014 in Lee County Court to 2 years for obstructing justice; that sentence ran concurrently with the 2015 Whiteside County sentence.
