Polo picks up win at home

Clippers beat Broncos; Raiders fall to Bulldogs

The Polo Marcos picked up an NUIC East victory at home Wednesday night, defeating the Dakota Indians 31-29, 25-16.

Marah Blake had eight kills and two blocks, Alex Dusing added five kills, 10 assists and six digs, and libero Harper Clark added 19 digs for the Marcos. Mallory Peterson dished 12 assists to go with four digs and two kills.

Amboy def. Orangeville 19-25, 25-22, 25-16: The Clippers won an NUIC East match at home for the second straight night.

Mallory Powers had eight kills and four blocks, while Shannon Lytle spiked nine kills for the Clippers. Gabby Jones dished 21 assists, Savannah Ikens had 14 digs,
and Ashley Althaus served three aces in the victory.

Durand def. AFC 25-11, 25-12: The Raiders
dropped an NUIC East match against the conference-leading Bulldogs.

Natalie Sondgeroth finished with five service points, three digs, two kills and an ace for AFC. Jaynee Prestegaard added four kills and two blocks, while Camdyn Penick dished out six assists.

East Dubuque def. West Carroll: 25-18, 25-10: The Thunder fell in an NUIC West home match to the Warriors.

Rochelle 7, Dixon 0: The Dukes went on the road and were blanked by the Hubs.

Amboy def. Milledgeville 25-15, 25-23: Gabby Jones had 17 assists and three aces as the Clippers downed the visiting Missiles on Tuesday night.

Shannon Lytle, Savannah Ikens, Mallory Powers and Dani Hochstatter each had four kills.

Galena def. Eastland 25-18, 23-25, 25-21: Sage Walrath had 22 digs and eight kills for the Cougars in a road loss Tuesday night against the Pirates.

Erica Dambman dished 14 assists for
Eastland (17-10, 6-4 NUIC West), and Karlie Krogman put down seven kills.

Girls swimming

Byron 119, Harlem 66: Dixon senior Katie Drezen won a pair of events to help the Tigers beat the Huskies on Tuesday.

Drezen was clocked at 2:05.74 in the 200 freestyle and 1:19.14 in the 100 breaststroke.
