Dixon’s Munroe to play at Rockford

Dixon senior Taryn Munroe will continue her academic and athletic career at
Rockford University next fall.

Rockford competes in Division III’s Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Regents went 5-35 last year.


E-P’s Ryan to play at Wisconsin-Platteville

Erie senior Jacob Ryan will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville next fall.

Ryan was a second-team Three Rivers East selection as a junior for Erie-Prophetstown with a .412 batting average, .472 on-base percentage and .475 slugging percentage. He scored 20 runs, drove in 19, and stole 12 bases, and also posted a 1.63 ERA with 30 strikeouts on the mound.

Wisconsin-Platteville competes in Division III’s Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Pioneers went 10-30 last season.


Sterling’s Leal to run at Sauk Valley

Sterling senior Ruben Leal will continue his academic and athletic career at Sauk Valley Community College next fall.

Leal has been a part of Sterling’s cross country and track & field teams in his 3 years with the Warriors.

Sauk Valley will have a track & field team for the first time in 2019-20.


Two Skyhawks named all-conference

Sauk Valley women’s basketball players Karlee Doege and Bre Scheidegger were named to the Arrowhead All-Conference team.

Scheidegger, a 2017 Dixon grad, was a first-team selection, as well as a Region IV All-American nominee. Doege was a second-team all-Arrowhead pick.

The Skyhawks finished 6-3 in Arrowhead Conference play in 2018-19, and lost in the Region IV Division I Tournament championship game.


Saints to sign former Vikings RB Murray

Former Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray intends to sign a 4-year, $14.4 million deal with the New Orleans Saints, spelling the end of the Mark Ingram era in the Big Easy.

Murray played his first three seasons with the Raiders.

He earned his lone Pro Bowl selection in 2015 when he rushed for a career-best 1,066 yards. He has rushed for 3,698 yards and 34 touchdowns in 77 games. He also has 128 receptions for 883 yards.

Ingram turns 30 in December.
