Letters to the Editor

At Easter, remember that Jesus died for our sins

May our hearts rip wide open as we read these truths that have the power to set us free from our ugly, self-centered ways.

Who is truly hearing Christ's message? Who is opening your hearts to his unconditional love and amazing grace? There is forgiveness and mercy every day that we lay our ugliness down at his cross.

Remember that he was despised and rejected – a man of great sufferings and sorrows. He was despised and we gave him no thought. He carried upon himself our sorrows, weaknesses and defeats. He was pierced for all of us. He was crushed for all our wrongs.

Why have we all strayed from the only one who came and paid our debts owed to God in full? Jesus was oppressed and afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. Jesus had done no wrongs, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

Jesus was crushed and suffered much. For those who are wise and choose to believe him, his punishments will bring them peace. His wounds will bring them healing. So by his righteousness many will be justified. By faith in Jesus Christ – simply believe. Only God's truths have the power to set us free from our selfish ways.

Always remember there are only two choices – selfishness or God. May everyone's hearts go after God's free gift of salvation and life to the fullest until it overflows.
