Movie premieres at Centennial Auditorium

Dillon home featured in film

STERLING — Thursday will be the night for area residents to view the movie filmed in in part at the Dillon Home – which will benefit from their attendance.

"Sons & Daughters of Thunder" will hit the big screen at 6 p.m. in Centennial Auditorium in Sterling High School. Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films in Moline made the movie, which is based on the play of the same name. It tells the true story of the 1834 Lane Theological Seminary anti-slavery debates in Cincinnati.

Tickets cost $5 in advance and at centennialauditorium.org or 815-622-3248, and at the door; all proceeds will be donated to the Sterling Park District's historic home and museum.

The Rundles will be at the premiere Thursday and give a short talk before the movie starts about making the film here. A few of the stars of the movie also are scheduled to attend, including Jessica Taylor, who plays Harriett Beecher, and her husband, Tom, who plays Theodore Weld.

The group also will host a question-and-answer session after the film and reminisce about their time at the Dillon Home during filming.
