STERLING – At least one child was injured around 7 p.m. Friday in a single-vehicle crash on Agnew Road at Mathew Road in rural Sterling.
Alisha E. Funderberg, 28, of Sterling, was southbound on Agnew Road “at a high rate of speed,” failed to make the T intersection with Mathew Road and hit a tree, the Whiteside County sheriff said in a news release.
Funderberg and her four of her five children were treated at CGH Medical Center; a fifth child was taken to a Rockford hospital. Their conditions were unavailable Monday.
Funderberg was charged with disobeying a stop sign, reckless driving, and endangering the life and health of a child; other charges may be pending, the release said.
Passenger Dustin J. Funderberg, 35, of Rock Falls, was arrested on a Whiteside County warrant for failure to appear.
