OREGON – Bad weather has ruined the Rockin’ River Fest.

“After 3 years of bad weather and limited attendance, we have made a difficult decision to discontinue Rockin’ River Fest as it currently exists,” said Donna Mann, a member of the event’s leadership team and president of the Oregon Chamber of Commerce Board.

“We are actively exploring new options for hosting some mini events like the Tug Across the Rock [a tug-of-war across the river, just below the dam] and other part of the festival that were well-received.”

Sponsored by Oregon Together and the chamber, the 3-year-old festival, held the third weekend in June, offered outdoor games, local food, live entertainment, competitive events, and a beer garden.

It was plagued by a downpour and wind in 2017, excessively hot and steamy conditions last year, when about 1,000 people attended, and heavy rain again this year, when about 750 participated.

Numbers were not available for the first year.
