Joann H. Howlett

STERLING – Joann H.Howlett, 82, of Sterling died Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Rock River Hospice and Home.

Joann was born on February 8, 1937, in Sterling the daughter of Frank and Marie (Dirks) Dettman. She married Donald Wayne Howlett on November 12, 1954. He died January 10, 2011. Joann was employed at the Sterling Farm and Fleet for 11 years as a department manager. She was a volunteer for the CGH Foundation and had enjoyed traveling and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include four daughters, Luana (Denny) Rude of Sterling, Michelle (Joe) Wilhelmi of Dixon, Melissa (Ray) Woessner of Milledgeville, and Marsha (Sean) Bowers of North Aurora, IL; two sons, Michael (Tammy) Howlett of Walnut and Marv (Debbie) Howlett of Milledgeville; her sister-in-law, MaryAnn Dettman of Sterling; her brother-in-law, Harold Adams of Dixon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded by parents; her brothers, Clarence, Elmer, and Walt Dettman; and her sisters, Dorothy Adams and Bernice Itken.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with Pastor Carol Soderholm officiating. There will be no visitation.
