MORRISON – A Rock Falls man free on bond in a 2018 case involving sexual assault of a 10 year-old girl is back in Whiteside County Jail, facing five counts of predatory sexual assault of a different girl, also 10.
Tyler S. Shaw-Sodaro, 28, also is charged with attempted predatory sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Investigators say he performed a variety of sex acts on the child between July 4 and Aug. 15, 2018.
Sodaro, arrested Tuesday on a warrant, faces 6 to 30 years each on the first five counts, 4 to 15 years for attempted rape, and 3 to 7 years on each sexual assault charge.
He is being held on $200,000 bond, and has a preliminary hearing July 29.
In November, he was charged with criminal sexual abuse of a child; investigators say he fondled that girl’s chest on Sept. 2.
That charge also carries 3 to 7 years in prison.
He posted $10,000 of his $100,000 bond March 19, and has a pretrial hearing Sept. 25.
In January 2010, Shaw-Sodaro was sentenced to 4 years’ probation, also in Whiteside County, for aggravated robbery committed 4 months earlier; a count of armed robbery was dismissed per his plea agreement.
