Roundup: Sterling soccer nets first WB6 win

Golden Warrior golfers fall to Sycamore; EP tops Mustangs

Sterling got its first Western Big 6 win in soccer on Tuesday at Roscoe Eades, beating Alleman 5-1.

Lucas Sotelo and Adrian Herrera each scored twice for the Golden Warriors. Fabricio Pena added another goal. Sotelo had two assists. Adrian Gallardo assisted on another goal.


Sycamore 162, Sterling 186: Carter Schlegel led the Golden Warriors with a 43 in a match against the Spartans at Sycamore Golf Club.

Carter Lehman had a 47 for Sterling, while Payton Day and Haze Morales each had 48s.

The medalist was Sycamore’s Iain Pardom with a 3-over-par 39.

Erie-Prophetstown 175, Morrison 239: Dawson Haggard was the medalist with a 7-over-par 42 as the Panthers won at Prophet Hills.

Bryce Rosenow and Carson Sterling had 43s for E-P, and Logan Wunderlich added a 47.

Mason Dykstra was low for the Mustangs with a 54.

West Carroll wins at Sandburr: The Thunder shot a 185 to beat Galena (196) and Amboy (246).

Deacon Hill shot a 43 on his home course, with Dillon Hill carding a 44 and Jacob McLuckie shooting a 48.

Conner Hummel led the Clippers with a 58. Wes Wilson and Hayden Wittenauer each shot a 60.

Galena’s Ryan Stoffregen was the medalist, shooting a 42.
