Biplanes, monoplanes, some with wheels, some with pontoons – dozens of airplanes came in for a landing Wednesday for the Best in the Midwest Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast at the Ogle County Airport, at 3019 W. state Route 64, just east of Mount Morris. Visitors could walk the 2,500-foot long grass landing area to check out aircraft that flew in for the day or watch them take off and land – and, of course, enjoy breakfast. The fly-ins are held to raise money for the county’s only privately supported public airport. Another fly-in is scheduled for Aug. 26. Go to oglecountyairport.com for more information.
