Eventually, I wandered across the street (you can walk or drive) to the Pumpkin Farm, and I found it to be frightfully fun. Before I knew it, I was following several families with small children along a path winding into the woods.
“Well this is nothing,” I thought, when an animated figure started to talk to me. But before long, zombies were popping up out of graves and hanging across the path. “Get going legs – don’t fail me now!” I thought to myself.
This really was a calm, fun, haunted pathway in the woods. The only real scare was when it ended – participants weren’t sure whether to continue on a path to the right or turn left and head back toward the Pumpkin Farm Activity Area. I went left. I never saw the ones who went right again ….. Oooooo!
The activity area offers lots of fun things to do. Admission is $11.99 Monday through Wednesday and $13.99 Thursdays and Fridays (both include the Jumping Pillow), $15.99 weekends and holidays (rides extra), $7.99 ages 65 and older and military members with ID, and free for children 2 and younger (rides are extra on weekends and holidays for both). Currently, the only ride costing more on weekends and holidays is the $2 Jumping Pillow.
A small gift shop and pumpkins for purchase can be found near the parking lot.
The farm overflows with family fun that shouldn’t be missed, especially if you have young children. So take a walk on the wild side through the Cornstalk Cavern and maybe try out that walk in the Haunted Forest. It’s OK to hold hands.
