Several tons of pink rolled into Rock Falls on Wednesday and stopped by St. Andrew Catholic School to visit with students and bring a fluffy smile to Lena Jordan, 5, who’s in remission with Langerhans cell histiocytosis cancer. Brian Tribley, Pink Heals Sauk Valley Chapter director, presented Jordan with a special teddy bear during the visit, which was made possible after St. Andrew's students held a dress-down day to raise money for Pink Heals and the CGH Health Foundation. The school presented $75 to the local Pink Heals chapter and $100 to CGH. The truck is manned by volunteer do-gooders decked out in pink turnout gear, and the truck itself is a canvas for thousands of people who sign their names or offer words of support. Go to pinkfiretrucks.org to learn more about the trucks and their tour, or find Pink Heals Sauk Valley, IL Chapter on Facebook.
