There was more than meets the eye in Sterling on Wednesday when a bigger-than-life-sized Transformer dropped by for a visit. Kids got a chance to meet Bumblebee, the star of an upcoming movie that’ll be released Dec. 21, during a visit to Walmart. The movie follows the Autobot’s adventures as he seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town and is befriended by a teen trying to find her place in the world. The big bee – measuring 9-foot tall – flew into town as part of a promotional tour for the movie that visited 1,000 Walmarts across the nation. In Sterling, the movie will open at AMC Classic Sauk Valley theater, 4110 E. 30th St., and Sterling Theater, 402 Locust St., on Dec. 21.
