Kids were on the prowl Tuesday at Lowell Park in Dixon hunting for leaves, twigs, something round and other natural items during a scavenger hunt. The Park District’s Ruth Edwards Nature Center hosted the morning activity for 3- to 5-year-olds. During the hunt kids had the chance to visit with Mr. Yowl, an injured owl who makes his home at the nature center. The nature center offers environmental education classes for students and kids of all ages. Visit dixonparkdistrict.com/nature/ or call 815-288-5209 for more information about the center.
