First they performed, then they partied. Members of Morrison’s Bi-County Bulldogs competed in the Special Olympic Regionals last weekend where ten of the 21 athletes qualified for state summer games next month. Athletes competed in the 50m and 100m run and the softball throw. State events are held June 7-9 at various sites in Bloomington/Normal. To celebrate the accomplishment a party was held at Southside Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Athletes listened to music while dancing, feasted on cupcakes and played a variety of games including bowling. The students were assisted throughout the season by dedicated volunteers. Visit soill.org for a schedule of the summer games and more information about Special Olympics.
