I came to know Mike Rock when he worked for Ogle State’s Attorney Ben Roe, while serving on the Ogle County Board. I had the pleasure of voting for his appointment to fill out Ben’s term as state’s attorney.
My concern is with our current state’s attorney and his lenient plea-bargaining agreements, which have been associated with past felony weapon charges and have resulted in murder, suicide and other criminal acts.
Being a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, all criminal gun violence gives a black eye to all law-abiding gun owners. All felony gun violations should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, resulting in incarceration instead of plea-bargaining down to probation.
In order to reduce crime in Ogle County and protect your long-term Second Amendment rights, I encourage you to vote March 17 for Mike Rock for state’s attorney. Make Ogle County safe again.
