PRINCETON – Festival 56 is canceling its summer theater season out of concerns over the lingering coronavirus.
The Festival 56 board of directors is looking for other ways to provide connection to the arts, and will allow Camp 56, its theater camp for third-grade through high school students, to take place at the end of the summer, employing health and safety guidelines.
A fall/winter season of music and other performances also is being outlined, for when restrictions will allow audiences to safely return to Grace Theater.
Each summer for 17 years, Festival 56 has welcomed young performers and out-of-town visitors, and the theater has been a launching pad for many theatrical careers. In fact, Festival 56 alumni have been offering videos sharing songs of hope and fond memories on the Festival 56 Facebook page.
