Larry Dunphy Storybook Trail opening Aug. 15 in Franklin Grove

FRANKLIN GROVE – Franklin Creek Conservation Association will open the new Larry Dunphy Memorial Storybook Trail in two sessions, at 9 and 10:45 a.m. Aug. 15, at Franklin Creek State Natural Area, 1872 Twist Road.

The panels are in and the posts are set. The trail features the children’s book, "Miss Maple’s Seeds," available at Books on First, 202 W. First St. in Dixon. Dunphy was co-owner of the bookstore.

There will be individually packaged snacks, and water and pop available, and a chance to help pick the next book to be featured.

Each session is limited to 50 people; registration, masks, and physical distancing are required.

Register by Aug. 13 at franklincreekconservation.org or 815-456-2718.
