One way to take excellent care of yourself is to visit your doctor regularly. He or she will make recommendations for adjusting your health care regimen and will arrange for testing as needed. Sometimes we get busy, however, and don't stick to a regular schedule for visiting our physicians. During October, Morrison Community Hospital will offer a special Fall Health Screening opportunity for members of the Morrison and surrounding communities so everyone has a chance to understand their current medical situation.
"MCH is providing very low cost blood profile tests for the community," explained Mick Welding, Marketing Director for Morrison Community Hospital. "It's a great time of year to take stock of your health at a very reasonable price."
The Fall Health Screenings will take place Monday through Friday, October 14 - 18, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Patients should report directly to the MCH Laboratory. The tests that are available include the following:
1. Lipid Profile ($20). This includes testing for overall cholesterol, with separate indications for HDL, LDL, and triglyceride levels.
2. Glucose / blood sugar ($7).
3. Hemoglobin A1C ($20).
4. Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) ($20). This test is for men only.
Please note: payments for testing are "cash only". Attendees must fast for a minimum of 10 hours before testing. Water is okay to consume, but no foods or other types of beverages are permitted during that 10-hour window so that accurate test results can be achieved.
If both the lipid profile and glucose tests are chosen, the total (discounted) cost is $25.
Attendees can walk in, or can make an appointment by calling 815-772-4003. For more information about the Fall Health Screenings at Morrison Community Hospital, please contact:
