As the holiday season approaches, many people ramp up their giving to those in need. Schools, charities, and other organizations that exist to help others are appreciative of any donation they receive. At Newman Central Catholic High School, one large school-wide fundraiser is hosted each year, with a different theme chosen annually. On October 19th, NCCHS will present Venetian Nights to raise funds to benefit students.
"This is a terrific annual event, and we're excited to host this Dinner/Dance with live and silent auctions for our families, friends, and other supporters," said Tim Nelson, Director of Development and Admissions for NCCHS. "Our goal is to raise $50,000."
The money raised during the fundraiser will help the school reach its goal of providing each student with a Chromebook laptop computer. "We currently have enough laptops for about half of our students, so classes have to share them," explained Nelson. "We want our students to have the computers be more accessible so they can do their schoolwork efficiently and in a timely manner."
Any remaining funds will be used to increase security at the school by adding additional camera systems and updating the doors with safety features to ensure students are protected at all times.
"Cocktail hour starts at 5:00 p.m., and an Italian buffet dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.," added Nelson. "The live auction will start at 8:00 p.m., and we'll have a silent auction going on during the evening as well. We'll offer appetizers, desserts, and beverages, including keg beer, pop, and water. The live entertainment will feature Ted Oliver with his dueling musicians - but instead of dueling pianos, they'll feature one pianist and one drummer. It's going to be a wonderful evening."
Dress is semi-formal, and VIP tables are available that include prime seats, VIP service, and Deluxe Champagne. For more information about NCCHS's Venetian Nights fundraiser, or for tickets, please contact:
